My SWEATER. What did you THINK I meant?
I'm sorry...but I just cannot resist a funny title.
Ahem, but back to the subject of sweater shaving. I am sure you are asking, "Why in the heck would you shave a sweater?"
Well, as a matter of fact...just this past week I put on a sweater I hadn't worn in a while, and realized it just looked bad. It was fuzzy in places, and had those annoying little "pills" all across the bottom of it. I really wanted to wear the sweater, so I decided to try shaving it. And not with a cute little sweater shaver--I don't have one of those. I shaved it with a regular leg-shaving razor. Only, I used a brand new one.
Guess what? It WORKED!!!
Here's what I did...
Oh, I love this sweater! There is just something about a cowl neck that I find very difficult to resist... I don't know if you can see any of the fuzzy, pilling parts. Here, I'll show you a closer-up view:
Here's my real leg-shaving razor! And here's a helpful hint--no extra charge! Be sure to use a brand new razor. I started off using my regular razor, and got some soap scum on the sweater. Eww. Thankfully, I had a brand new one in my cabinet.
Ah, look at that! All nice and smooth again! Good as new--thanks to the trusty ole razor! Notice the little pile of purple lint. After I finished shaving the sweater, I found that there were little piles of lint I needed to pick off. I'm sure they would fall off as I was wearing it--but who wants purple stuff falling off while walking around chatting with people??
So, what do you think? Have YOU ever used a razor to shave a sweater?
Oh, and here's my legal disclaimer: I do not know if this shortens the life of my sweaters at all--I'm sure it's not recommended by the manufacturer. But, it sure works for me! I figure a smooth sweater beats a fuzzy, pilly one any old day!
Hey--and DON'T FORGET!!! It's my 1-year Blogaversary Week over here!!!
