There have been lots of jokes around here about animals lining up 2x2. I haven't seen any animals lining up...but if I were offered a seat on a big ark, I would HOP RIGHT ON!!
Today, our little town of Branson, MO, received over a FOOT of rain today. Plus, it's been raining for the last 40 days straight. (Okay, maybe not that many days...it just feels like it!)
There are flash flood warnings, tornado watches and warnings covering all the states surrounding us. Many of our friends' houses along Lake Taneycomo have flooded, and our friends have been evacuated. Many roads are closed because of flooding. My brother-in-law in Northwest Arkansas has been on rescue calls due to flooding for 2 straight days, with reports of some tragic deaths.
In other words, it's a BIG MESS around these parts!
Here are a few pictures we snapped driving around this afternoon.

And Table Rock Dam opening all 10 of its flood gates this afternoon will only cause more flooding along Taneycomo...
But, because of this promise
Our girls are able to play, carefree
And ENJOY the rain
That the rest of us around here, are ANNOYED with
I'm praying for everyone affected by these terrible storms. And, ever grateful for God's promise...
8 Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: 9 “I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you 10 and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth. 11 I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” -Genesis 9:8-16
