This past weekend, in honor of Memorial Day, a couple of friends sent some e-mails, and we planned a last-minute get together. There is nothing sweeter than lifelong friendships and lazy summer nights.
Nothing says good friends like gathering around the kitchen, helping put the meal together.
And nothing says summer get together like a grill and some meat. Ah, delicious!
The essentials for any summer gathering: fresh strawberries, sweet corn on the cob, wokka moley, and sweet tea. Just mentioning these things makes me feel relaxed.
I walked around the house and yard to snap a few pics of the kids...and I just SMILED when I noticed that our kids were playing in little groups...
Here are the little ones, now officially 1st graders! *wiping tear* Sara Beth hasn't decided that playing with boys is gross yet. I hope it is several more years before she realizes that.
Here are the girls...sweet and funny and giggly and crazy.
Oh, and some big kids. I won't tell you which one wanted his pic on my blog... They absolutely refused to lean in close and touch cheeks for this picture. Party poopers.
And where there are boys, and a basketball goal...there is always DUNKING...
Oh yeah! Get it, Zac Man!!!
And here's Montana in action!! Sweet.
And I absolutely adore the fact that--without any prompting--Zac lifted up his little brother for a dunk shot of his own. I just love these boys!!!
Here, are all the kids together (minus 1)...This picture just makes my heart happy. These kids have grown up together from the crib. There are several other special friends who should also be in this picture...
These kids may not completely realize the special thing they have now...but someday, looking back, they will realize how blessed they were to grow up together.
