Oh, I know that New Year's was days ago. But, I needed a good title in order to show ya'll our family's Christmas picture. I couldn't very well have said "Merry Christmas," now could I? Christmas was like, so last year.
I was kind of proud of this year's family portrait. First of all, you should know that I really DISLIKE having my picture taken. Well, that's not true exactly. What I dislike is SEEING my picture. I am a good 20-lbs lighter in my mind...so when I see a picture of myself I think, "WHO is that girl?" Anybody else have this issue?
Anyway, I may not like taking normal pictures of myself...but I DO LOVE taking FUNNY pictures. (Remember, I am a crazy woman.) So, this year's Christmas picture was right up my alley. Just in case you don't "get it"--our picture is a play on the popular book/website Awkward Family Photos. (If you haven't ever checked out the book or website, you HAVE to. There are some HILARIOUS photos!)
Enough talking now. Here is our family photo for 2011's Christmas card...
(click on the picture to see it even BIGGER and BETTER!)
On the inside of our Christmas cards, I did include a real picture of our family. Our good friend Janna Goodwin did a FUN photo shoot one afternoon, and this is one of my favorites. If she'll give me permission (hint hint!), I'd love to show you some others she snapped (including the one now sitting on my fireplace mantel *swoon*). That girl is like a Rembrandt with a camera!!! If ever you need an amazing--and very fun!--photographer in the Branson area, please give Janna a call. Really, your family will have a blast with her. This may have been on of the first family photo shoots where my armpits were not sweaty from the STRESS of telling my girls to behave and SMILE at the camera, dangit.
(For my Kanakuk readers, this picture was shot in the K-1 Council Ring. O-Way-Uh, O-Way-Uh... Smile.)
