First in a series of super positive, fascinatingly profound things that bug me...Bachelor style
Episode 6…How you taunt me with your understated depth…
(Disclaimer to my Mama, and any Sunday School teacher I have had in the past…
I know, I know what you are going to say…Pure Trash. And I agree. However, since I was a speech communication minor in college, I consider watching this show a way of say, brushing up on my interpersonal communication research. And, honestly, I’m not kidding that much.)
And now—back to the Things that Bug Me:
Do I even need to elaborate? Raise your hand if you agree!
I don’t dislike her…but, bubbala, we understand you’re insecure. Didn’t your mama see it in those cards of hers that nail biting is totally and emphatically unattractive? And the babytalk. I. Can’t. Take. It. Anymoooore.
Since I am an EOB (Equal Opportunity Blog), I shouldn’t leave out cute On A Scale of One to Ten, How Sweet and Good Is She? Here’s what bugs me about her situation: The ABC editors like to edit out the main reason she and Jake “clique” so much… Case in point: Jake is having a conversation with her dad about why he wants to marry her…and all we hear is, “She is beautiful. We have a lot of the important things in common…” Hmmm, wonder if those edited out “important things” could be…your FAITH, perhaps? Used my deductive reasoning on that one, I did.
Standing before the Shrine. Poor florist, gets her one lovely moment of fame, and all anyone is looking at is Ali’s PROMINANTLY DISPLAYED!!! photo. Subtle, ABC, real subtle… We all fell for it once. Do you honestly think we’re going to bite that hook again??? Well, maybe just a teensy little bite. It’s more fun that way.
And here. Wow, she already looks tortured. Sure wish I had a screen shot of the sobbing-and-beating-her-forehead-with-the-heel-of-her hand-messing-up-her-hair scene. Good grief! Please please edit out the uncomfortable 10 minutes of We Already Know What She’s Going to Do--as well as the How Should I Display my Legs in Jake’s Lap? The sitting down in the middle of the hallway floor and sobbing some more did get her some bonus points for the Emmy Nomination, though. I am already anticipating the Surprise! After the Rose Ceremony Visit.
Oh, I’ve got your number, ABC. I am sensitive to the subtle nuances of this multi-dimensional show.
