Today, Mama Kat is hosting a Writer's Workshop where one of the topics is "What is your favorite part about your child's room?"
So, I walked down the hallway to my precious daughters' rooms...just to peer in and see what part of their rooms touched my heart the most...
Oh, my sweet baby girls. Their rooms are like little rays of sunshine on a cloudy day.
I'll just show you the rooms, instead of telling you.
I'm sure you can *guess* what parts of their rooms are my very favorite...
But, first: A little sign to welcome us in:
Don't you feel welcomed? Don't worry--that sign was for her sister. Come on in!
Before we go any further, I feel obligated to give you some helpful room terminology:
"No Man's Land" - The small space between the bed and the wall; Usually hidden from view. Sometimes used as a hiding place for treasures...or dirty clothes...or stuffed animals lost during the night.
I give you...Room #1:
(Are you sitting down?)
(No, really.)
(Okay, here goes nothing...)
Just the other day one of my friends was over, and when she saw the girls' rooms she commented, "I'm surprised you let your girls keep their rooms this way."
Um. Well. Uh. Hey--how 'bout this nice weather we're having?
Yeah, okay. So, I don't necessarily *LET* my girls keep their rooms this way. It's just that life sort of happens. Or more accurately--a LOT of life happens around here. And, sadly, but also very honestly--clean rooms are not at the top of our list.
But, room cleaning is on THE LIST for tomorrow. I promise! Right after school work, and lunch, and the library, and maybe the outlet mall for a quick errand...
See what I mean?
Do YOU have a "No Man's Land" area of your bedroom? C'mon--be honest! Mine is my towering stack of to-read books.
